It's always a heady experience entering the Mystery and Imagination Bookstore, inhaling the rich aroma of ideas, breathing in molecules of Bradbury, Poe, and the almost, but not quite, infinite of notions floating in the air heady as pure oxygen. (There

Thank You Audible
I wish to thank Audible (ACX) for being about the best place for authors new and old to produce and sell audio books.
Not only do they make it simple to discover talented producers, recording artists, they pay well, add bonuses and offer downloads to help you promote your work.
They always respond and are receptive and helpful.
I have found amazing actors to bring my words to life… Simon Prebble who could make even a laundry list sound fabulous, Derek Perkins, who brings characters alive and lastly but not vaguely close to least-ly, Brandon McKernan who generates emotion and resonates with the meaning behind the words.
All have been not only professional and punctual, but delightful to work with!
Thank you all so much.
(I was for many years a devoted audiophile before I was an author…. Thanks for the stories)

Reading at Mystery and Imagination
For my new short fiction collection - “Another Happy Ending,” was wonderful.
As always gracious and lovely proprietor Christine Bell was there, surrounded by books and touched with the grace of true fictions, which are more real than facts, but kinder.
Ray Bradbury’s genial ghost I’m sure sat in the back embracing all with his belief and love.
READINGS AND MEMORIES
BOOK LAUNCH OCTOBER 20th 2:00pm Mystery and Imagination
When green leaves turn to red and gold,
when night winds blow secrets down deserted streets and the scent of burning fills the air – even in the city – you know that it’s the Bradbury time of year.
All Hallows Eve… the time that spirits wander and visit their favorite haunts.
This is the month that Ray’s genial ghost I’m sure will be visiting his favorite bookstore, The Mystery and Imagination on 238 N. Brand Blvd. in Glendale.
All the best bookstores are haunted – haunted by characters that live on long after pages flutter shut. Haunted by the writers who have read there… and the Mystery and Imagination has had many.
The wall that leads up steep stairs to a reading room is thick with signatures of scribblers famous and obscure who have read there.
Most bookstores have vanished now, so when you are lucky enough to find one, dusty with ideas, and smelling of secrets, I recommend wandering among the narrow aisles.
Listen to the voices whispering tales from between closed covers… And if there’s a book launch and part going on all the better,
I invite you to join me, at my launch and party for my new Collection of Short Fiction
“Another Happy Ending,”
Mystery and Imagination Bookstore
October 20th from 2:00- 3:00
238 N. Brand Blvd. Glendale, CA 91203 818-545-0206
And if you keep your eyes and mind and heart open, you might just see Ray wandering among the shelves, embracing everyone with his warmth and laughter just as he did not so very long ago.
