During the long, lonely night she sets free the birds. As a reward, they give her the feathernail, a tiny feather where her little fingernail once grew. It enables her to travel inside of dreams and change them. With the aid of two other magically gifted friends and with a talking cat she sets out to discover if her parents are alive and why her grandmother is so nasty.
